Actor Mohamed El-Taji Dies at 72 After Battle with Illness

Al-Taj News – Egyptian Actors Syndicate President Ashraf Zaki announced the death of actor Mohamed El-Taji at the age of 72 following a health crisis.

Zaki told Al Arabiya.net in an exclusive statement that the funeral of the late actor will be held tomorrow, Monday, at Al-Thawra Mosque in Nasr City, Cairo.

Egyptian actor Mohamed El-Taji had undergone delicate surgery in recent days after suffering from severe pain in his spine that affected his ability to walk normally and caused him to bend over, prompting him to undergo medical examinations, followed by abdominal surgery to remove some fatty masses.

Earlier, El-Taji had also undergone abdominal surgery to treat a hernia, preceded by three consecutive surgeries, which negatively affected his health condition.

The Egyptian actor, born in Cairo on April 28, 1954, was the grandson of the late actor Abdel Warith Asar. He played prominent roles in dozens of films, television series and plays.

El-Taji appeared in the play “Al-Motazawjoun” with actor Samir Ghanem and actress Sherine, in the film “Al-Motared” with actor Nour El-Sherif and actress Soheir Ramzy, in the series “Al-Bashayer” with actor Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, and in the series “Hadaeq Al-Shaitan” with actor Jamal Suleiman, in addition to the series “Molouk Al-Gadana,” “Al-Ajhar,” “Al-Atawla,” and “Al-Le’ba.”
